pursuing 3rd Year
Commercial Arts from
Sir J.J. Institute
of Applied Art,
Mumbai.
She has a strong
base in Carnatic
classical music,
which she learnt for
10 years from Smt.
Raji Raju, Smt.
Chella Krishnamurthy
and Shri
Chandrashekhar
Bhagwatar. She is
learning Hindustani
classical music
since the last 7
years from Smt.
Vatsala Rao (Chembur
Fine Arts) and
undergoing advanced
training in the same
field from Pt.
Sharad Sathe.
A graceful dancer,
Ujwala has also been
learning Bharat
Natyam for the last
16 yrs from Shri
Rajarajeshwari
Bharata Natya Kala
Mandir under the
tutelage of Smt.
Karunambal, Shri
Vishwanath and Shri
Kalyanasundaram.
Gifted with multiple
talents, she has
achieved an ‘A’
grade in the
Intermediate Drawing
exam and is
presently pursuing a
career in the field
of designing.
Among her
achievements in her
young age, are the
following:
• She has performed
in the presence of
Shri A.P.J. Abdul
Kalam
(President of India during the period) in 2006.
• She has been
awarded ‘Best
Singer’ in Fine Arts
Music Society
from 2001-2007.
• She is the
recipient of the
‘Kalavibhushan’
Award for the Best
Artist in 2004.
• She has won
several awards in
the inter-school and
college solo
singing and dance competitions, group singing and group folk
dance competitions.
• She has won prizes
in the Swaradhana
competition for solo
singing and duet singing in 2002 and 2004 respectively.
Ujwala has grown up
into CHYK from being
a Chinmaya Bala
Vihar child since
her childhood.
Ujwala hails from a
family of musicians
and draws her
inspiration from her
grandmother, Smt.
Susheela Acharya her
mother, Smt.
Shyamala Acharya and
her aunt, Smt.
Pramodini Rao who
motivate her to sing
well and do better
each time. |
